Discussion Questions
1. Because painting has been around for thousands of years before film, can it be considered just as much of a representation of reality as film, since it is sometimes the only representation of life from a long time ago?
2. Benjamin says that a film actor must represent himself rather than someone else, while a stage actor essentially does the opposite, but how can that be possible if the film actor's role is radically different from his own personality?
